Adding Photos

Using a digital camera with your PC.

We are assuming that you can use your digital camera in conjunction with your PC. So we will not try to explain that part at all.

Firstly, for the purposes of this tutorial we suggest that you create a new folder to put your photos into (we suggest you locate it either on the desktop or in My Pictures) and name it 'Taxi Photos'.

Adding photos to your Taxi-Mart advert.

This is a very simple process of just 3 steps.

1. Finding out the size of your photos:

Firstly you will need to ensure that your photo or photos are each smaller than 1MB as this is the largest size photo that you can upload with the Taxi-Mart application.

The easiest way to do this is to navigate to the 'Taxi Photos' folder that you created earlier. Choose a photo, hold the cursor arrow over it and click the right mouse button. This will bring up a dialogue box. Scroll down to the bottom and click on 'Properties' You will then see another dialogue box. In the box you will see 2 lines looking like this:

 Taxi-Mart File Size

You will see from the example above that the size is 3.23MB which is too big.

2. Resizing your photos:

You should be able to do this with the software that came with your camera, if not you can follow this link to a great free program that you can download: PIXresizer

The approximate dimensions you should aim for are around 800 x 600 pixels at around 72 dpi.

3. Uploading your photos:

First click on 'Upload a Photograph'' as in the photo below:

 Taxi-Mart Image Upload

This will bring up a box similar to the one below:

 Taxi-Mart Folders

Browse to the folder where your taxi photos are, in this case 'Taxi Photos' and then click 'Open'.

 Taxi-Mart Files

Find the photo that you would like to upload and then click on it, the download will start automatically.

After around 5-10 seconds (depending on photo size and speed of connection) your photo will appear in the box.

You can repeat the steps above for the rest of your photos.
